As a Registered Dietitian with over 20 years of experience, I specialize in personalized, practical nutrition solutions that make healthy eating both enjoyable and sustainable. With a Master’s degree in Nutrition from Colorado State University and undergraduate degrees from Life University and Tufts University, I’m licensed in Vermont, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. My services are often reimbursable through insurance—check with your provider—and I offer sliding scale fees on an honor system for low-income clients. As a solo mom, I understand the challenges of balancing health and budget.
My approach starts where you are, integrating your current eating habits, preferences, and lifestyle to create manageable steps toward better health. I’m often a “last resort” for those struggling with unresolved symptoms or complex nutrition issues, with even other dietitians turning to me for guidance on tough cases. I believe food is medicine, using kitchen herbs, spices, fermented foods, and simple cooking techniques to craft meals that taste as good as they feel. When appropriate, I take a whole-household approach to make changes easier for everyone.
I love working with children and families, particularly those facing selective eating (often tied to sensory issues, ARFID, or anxiety) or chronic illnesses, whether eating orally or via tube. My additional training in adverse food reactions has helped hundreds navigate allergies and intolerances, finding substitutes and strategies to enjoy favorites while minimizing symptoms. In some cases, we can even reduce the severity of intolerances. I also have extensive experience supporting pregnant or breastfeeding moms, as well as older adults, ensuring nutrition meets their unique needs.
Unlike many, I don’t push weight loss or rely on supplements. Instead, we collaborate to evolve your eating habits toward the next step in your health journey. My clients find my approach clear, practical, and empowering—often a stark contrast to the confusing or unhelpful advice they’ve received elsewhere. One client shared, “Heather explained everything and helped me figure out how to make changes that are doable. It’s cheaper than seeing someone through my insurance, but I’m still submitting it. Definitely worth it.”
With specialized training in pediatrics, food allergies, selective eating, and enteral feeding, I’ve worked in diverse settings, from NICU to inpatient and outpatient care. My passion for nutrition began at age 10, and it remains my hobby—whether volunteering at a nature camp to expand kids’ palates or exploring new ways to make healthy food delicious.
Ready to make sustainable changes to support your health? As a Registered Dietitian with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, I’m here to guide you with expertise and compassion. Unlike “nutritionists,” who may lack formal credentials, dietitians like me complete rigorous education, internships, and exams. Let’s work together to find a way of eating you love that your body loves too—no magic pills, just real food and real results. Contact me to start your journey today!
