Background

Typically, I am somewhere soaking up the sun with a good book or in my kitchen trying to get creative with tomorrows meals. I love spending time with my family and friends, creating memories, sharing laughs, and bonding. As a young girl, I always had a heart that was dedicated to others, offering them whatever I had to make their journeys easier, clearer. So that begs the question: How did I get here?

I have a passion for getting to know people and offering them the knowledge I have gathered through my education and experiences. I started at 18 years old with a dream but no idea where to start. A Google search is how I ended up here. I Googled careers and fell in love with "nurtitionist", not ever previously knowing I could study food as a job. I am very organized and Type A so after that, I mapped out my next steps.

I went to the University of New Hampshire, working through college to pay off my degree, and was able to get a Bachelors and Masters of Science degrees in 5 years. My first nutrition class has nearly 200 students in it, all fresh faced and excited for their first year at college. After that day, my love for learning about nutrition, the body, the mind, and the relationships we hold with others only skyrocketed.

After those 5 memorable, special years of my life, I moved back home to be with my family and complete my dietetic internship at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA. Although rigorous and intense, the internship prepared me incredibly for remaining resilient, open minded, kind, and compassionate. It helped me to continue to hone my critical thinking and research skills, something I continue to do to this day. The friendships and relationships build through that program are ones I will hold to my heart forever.

Then came the career part of it all. Finding an entry level job was no easy task. Someone had to take a chance and hire a fresh graduate with no "real" experience, despite how real school and the internship felt to me. I was lucky enough to have been reached out to by the Clinical Nutrition Manager at Newton Wellesley Hospital. I have been working in clinical nutrition for nearly a year now and my love for being there for others has grown ten fold. I sought out Fay to open myself further to people, experiences, and knowledge. I want to enter the private practice space to reach more people, offering them knowledge that should be available to all people considering everyone needs to eat.

I have experience working with those who have a variety of health conditions though my current work and the time spent in my internship. This includes, though is not limited to, hypertension, chronic heart failure, diabetes, chronic kidney disease, malnutrition, failure to thrive, and irritable bowel syndrome and irritable bowel disease. I am dedicated to seeking out the most up to date and relevant information to provide only the best to my clients.

I offer a listening ear, using everything shared to me to guide recommendations and care plans. No detail is too small in my eyes. The entire person is more than just what they eat, how they look, or what holds them back.

Let me be there for you as you start to navigate your goals and aspirations. We can work together.
