Hi, I’m Danni Gheleva—nutrition coach, therapist, and educator with over 25 years of experience helping adults reconnect with food, health, and themselves.
I help people move from confusion and overwhelm to clarity and confidence in their nutrition and lifestyle. Many of my clients are women navigating midlife hormonal shifts—like perimenopause and menopause—while also juggling parenting, careers, and stress. Whether you're working to prevent or manage conditions like high cholesterol, high blood pressure, or high A1C, need help managing cravings, planning meals, or making movement part of your routine—or simply want to feel more energized and in tune with your body—I’ll offer personalized coaching that meets you where you are, with science, structure, and support.
My specialties include:
Cardiometabolic health (cholesterol, blood pressure, insulin resistance, pre-/type 2 diabetes)
Weight management through sustainable, non-restrictive strategies
Women’s health across the lifecycle (fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, menopause, PCOS)
My approach is holistic and rooted in functional and integrative nutrition. That means we look beyond food alone to uncover the deeper patterns, imbalances, and habits that shape your health. Together, we explore the full picture—your nutrition, lifestyle, medical and family history, sleep, stress, activity, and environment—to get to the root of your concerns and support lasting change.
As a coach and counselor, I’m known for being thorough, practical, compassionate, and detail-oriented. I’m not here to push trendy diets or a narrow view of health. Instead, I’ll help you build realistic, nourishing routines that support your goals and your life. We’ll focus on food that fuels you, habits that ground you, and skills that empower you—like meal planning, plant-forward cooking, and finding joy in movement—to help you feel strong, energized, and confident in your daily choices.
My path in nutrition has been both deep and wide. I hold a PhD in Human Nutrition from the University of Minnesota and a BS in Nutrition & Dietetics from Texas Christian University. I spent 18 years training future dietitians and healthcare professionals, and my background includes academic teaching, corporate research for a major food company, and founding Washington’s first college-based Teaching Kitchen. I also led immersive Mediterranean food culture and sustainability programs in Italy and Spain, and now run Kaleidoscope Nutrition—a virtual practice where I help adults across the U.S. find their best health.
On a personal note, I’m a nature lover, adventurous budget traveler, and bike commuter. I love long walks (urban and alpine), lap swimming, yoga, and getting outdoors in all seasons. As a single working parent of two, I also live the very real juggle of busy schedules and full plates—and I’m here to help you find practical, flexible ways to thrive in the midst of it.
If you’re ready to take charge of your health and want a partner who listens deeply, teaches clearly, and walks the journey with you—I’d love to meet you.
