Background

I began Nurturing Remedies in 2010 as a way to practice nutrition in my own creative way. I combine whole foods nutrition with herbal therapy, supplements, functional medicine testing and cleaner lifestyle choices as the foundation in healing. Helping clients discover the underlying issue(s) manifesting their symptoms and addressing them successfully is not only rewarding for my clients but fuels my drive to continue to learn about my passion for natural healing. As a proponent of the mind-body-spirit connection, my techniques empower clients to connect with their body through diet, breath work, meditation, and herbs through essential oils and flower essences..

In addition to running my own consulting business I have held a wide spectrum of clinical positions with various vantage points. From monitoring growth and adjusting enteral feeds for children with complex medical issues, to brainstorming ways to feed kids with sensory issues or autism to menopausal women with hormonal imbalance, I can creatively use the power of nutrition in helping clients enhance their well being. Various job environments have included hospital inpatient and outpatient, nursing home, home based therapy, teaching in the community, and private practice. Additionally, I have a seasonal herb shop on my farm where I sell my handcrafted herbal products to the public.

I pursued my goal to become a Registered Dietitian after completing my Bachelors’ Degree at Castleton State College in Castleton,Vt (my favorite New England state). I completed my Masters curriculum and scientific study before directing her attention to starting a family. My love of natural healing and gardening led to completion of an Apprenticeship and Advanced Training in Herbal medicine at the Boston School of Herbal Studies. After losing both my parent’s to ALS and MS, I find the subject of autoimmune diseases personally intriguing. I enjoy my horses, gardening, writing, skiing, hiking, and most of all my two children and dogs whom I live with in West Newbury, MA.

Approach

"My approach is to meet my client where they are and tailor their unique goals to what is realistic and attainable. But I may nudge you a bit as well! Health challenges these days are multi-dimensional requiring thinking outside of the box. Implementing current nutrition research with carefully selected supplements, herbal support, functional medicine testing, and lifestyle suggestions create a comprehensive, natural approach. Like any process we tweak things along the way."
