After beginning my career in education, I discovered a true passion for nutrition and pursued a degree in Nutrition and Food Science at Middle Tennessee State University. Since then, I’ve gained extensive experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including work with the Department of Veterans Affairs, where I specialized in weight management and bariatric nutrition. There, I led group education classes, guided patients using weight loss medications or preparing for surgery, and implemented process improvement projects across multiple clinics.
Currently, I serve as a bariatric and weight loss dietitian, helping patients navigate their nutrition journey with a personalized and supportive approach. I also develop educational materials and telehealth programs to expand access to care, mentor future dietitians, and assist patients in understanding insurance and billing processes. I’m actively working toward Board Certification in Obesity and Weight Management but did earn my certificate of training in Obesity for Pediatrics and Adults. I am personally plant-based and often help clients who are interested in leading a more plant-forward lifestyle or who simply want to have a few more meatless Mondays in their weekly routine.
My goal is to empower individuals with practical, evidence-based nutrition guidance to support lasting lifestyle change. I believe that successful nutrition care is built on collaboration, honesty, and consistency. I ask my clients to come with an open mind, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to making small, sustainable changes over time. Progress may look different for everyone, but with mutual trust and active participation, we can work together to create a personalized plan that supports your goals and long-term well-being.
"My counseling style blends both structure and compassion. Rather than focusing on restrictions, I emphasize what we can add to their routines—whether it’s new foods to include in their diet or additional movement and exercise to integrate into their day. I also encourage creative thinking, helping clients discover tools and strategies that support the creation of lasting, healthy habits."
