I came to the career of nutrition with a lot of baggage…
I had a complicated relationship and history with food and my body. I thought studying nutrition as my career would solve all of that! I attended University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point and earned my undergraduate degree in dietetics in 2014. I then attended my 1,200 hour dietetic internship through the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay, and passed my credentialing exam in 2016. Certainly now that I have all this knowledge, I will have a handle on my weight and my eating habits…right?
But instead, I was even more confused, guilty, and stuck. Why couldn’t I eat what I knew was “right”? After a few years of practicing as a dietitian, I finally got to the root: address and nurture my emotional relationship with food, and find the freedom to enjoy food and eating.
My own journey, as well as those of many past clients over the last 4 years, drives how I run my private practice today. I utilize an anti-diet approach paired with intuitive eating principles to get to know who you are, what you love, and your individual goals to help you heal your food relationship and find the joy in food! I serve two primary groups: women in any stage of life that are tired of the diet merry-go-round, and want to get to the root of undesirable food habits, and pregnant and postpartum women looking to optimally nourish their body and their baby. I have completed additional training and courses in prenatal-postpartum nutrition and intuitive eating.
Clients can expect a cozy, empathetic, and inviting experience with me. I am here to listen to what has shaped how you interact with food. We aim to release judgment around food, monitoring progress with experience-centric metrics rather than weight loss. Fear not, positive health outcomes are still well documented with an intuitive eating approach!
When I am not counseling clients, I am busy homeschooling my two sons. My favorite hobbies are foraging for wild edibles, lacto-fermenting vegetables, and trying out new coffee shops with dear friends. Thank you for visiting and I hope to see you soon!
"Let’s have tea & chat about your food relationship! I serve two lovely groups: women in any stage of life that are tired of the diet merry-go-round, and want to get to the root of undesirable food habits, and pregnant and postpartum women looking to optimally nourish their body and their baby. Meeting with me feels like a place of non-judgmental safety and comfort. Transform shopping, cooking, and eating into an experience of joy and peace, instead of one filled with shame & not-enoughness."
