April Fogleman, RD
Background
April Fogleman, PhD, IBCLC, RD, works in private practice as a Registered Dietitian and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. She also works at NC State University as an Associate Professor of Nutrition and Extension Specialist. She teaches several courses related to Nutrition, including an introductory nutrition course and courses about public health nutrition and maternal and infant nutrition. Her passions are teaching and mentoring students, working with patients to reach their health-related goals, and running her breastfeeding support group. April earned her BS, MS, and PhD from NC State University. She earned her RD from the University of Northern Colorado and her IBCLC from the UNC Chapel-Hill’s School of Public Health. Her Nutrition related areas of expertise include celiac disease, maternal and infant nutrition, sports nutrition, infant and child growth, and overall healthy lifestyle habits. She is a mother to three children and one dog and her husband is a two-time cancer survivor. She is a Christian, loves dogs, camping with her family, traveling, gardening, and exercising with her friends.
