Hello! I’m a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) with over 9 years of experience providing person-centered, evidence-based, holistic nutrition counseling and care to diverse populations and age groups. Born and raised in California as the child of immigrants, I grew up with a mother who instilled a love of food and flavor – we often explored other cultures through our taste buds!
Food is more than just fuel to me – it’s a source of community building, celebration, comfort, and cultural heritage & identity. Food nourishes the body, mind, and soul. The relationship we have with food not only impacts our own health & well-being, but also how we connect with the world. Therefore, it is essential to foster a positive relationship with food in order to achieve optimal health and truly thrive.
I launched my private practice, Shahnti Nutrition LLC, in 2021 to help increase access to inclusive, holistic, and culturally-competent care for BIPOC communities. My mission: to help my clients find peace and balance with food and their bodies. I aim to empower my clients to feel and look their best through building balanced, sustainable lifestyle habits. I believe good health can be achieved at any size, and enjoy helping my clients find flexible and unrestrictive ways of eating and moving that work best for their bodies.
I have a Master’s degree in Nutrition Education from Columbia University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from UCLA. I work hard to ensure my clients are able to eat the foods they love and value while positively supporting their health. When working with me, you’ll get more than a trusted nutrition professional – I’ll be your advocate, cheerleader, and confidante too.
I’m a mom, proud paw-rent to an adopted pup named Nala, and lover of food puns, rooftop views, and stand-up comedy. Some of my favorite foods include: any dish with eggplant, chutney sandwiches with Hot Cheetos, and lavender milk tea.
I look forward to getting to know you too – it’s an honor to be a part of your health journey!
"You know your body best – I’m here to support and guide you. Rooted in body kindness & intuitive, balanced eating styles, my approach emphasizes small, realistic changes to create lasting impact. I encourage you to show up with patience, honesty, and an open mind. Together, we’ll explore food choices that feel good using science and compassionate counseling to build a flexible nutrition plan that fits your lifestyle & goals. I hope to leave you feeling heard, understood, informed, and empowered."
