Hi I'm Ana, a bilingual (Eng-Spa) Registered Dietitian and lactation consultant. I have gained a variety of experience working in both inpatient and outpatient settings working with hospitalized patients from all kinds of cultural backgrounds and stages in life. My practice involves providing Medical Nutrition Therapy in a patient centered approach. I am familiar with a variety of medical chronic conditions, medical lab review, and diverse health and nutrition needs, including nutrition support like tube feedings and nutrition through the vein or parenteral nutrition. I have also worked in public health & community settings where I have assisted pregnant, postpartum women, breastfeeding moms, infants, and children under 5 years old.
Being a registered dietitian in private practice allows me to help more people in a more personalized approach and meet the clients where they are in their health journey as there is not a one-fits all when it comes to nutrition and health.
I am well aware how busy life can get and how time constraints can affect your self-care when you are caring for others as well. Life may come at you with different challenges, this is why I like to share with my clients strategies to help overcome and/or work with the challenges they face because let’s be honest one cannot always get rid of them.
As a registered dietitian, I enjoy helping others achieve better health and better yet prevent future complications when possible as I have seen what it looks like for someone to be greatly decompensated from a chronic disease. Walking a healthy journey is not always easy, but it is achievable if you have the right tools, a good-positive mindset, and a support system that helps you stay committed to be and feel better for yourself and those who love you.
Outside of work I enjoy spending some quality time with my family and friends, travelling, meeting new places, trying new restaurants, and having memorable experiences. I believe food and nutrition play such an important role and foundation on our overall health and well being both physically and emotionally. With so much nutrition misinformation and fear-mongering in the media, I understand how confusing and difficult it may be to find true evidence-based nutrition advice. As an RD and IBCLC, I aim to be a trustworthy and unbiased source for nutrition guidance for my clients.
"I engage my clients by having a client-centered, non judgmental approach where the client collaborates in the selection of intervention and goals that will best work for their lifestyle, and current circumstances. I will help you create SMART goals that include realistic expectations to attain a healthier life-style and quality of life one step at a time. Things get easier when you have a plan and a support system, let me be that support through your journey to sustainable health."
