Background

We all understand the significant impact lifestyle choices have on our well-being. Yet, making lasting changes can at times feel daunting. My mission is to empower my patients to live fulfilling lives through personalized, evidence based guidance. I partner with patients, providing both the evidence based recommendations and support needed to confidently navigate their journey towards long-lasting health.

With a PhD in Plant Science / Agriculture from the University of Minnesota and a more recent Masters Degree in Nutritional Science from San Jose State University, I am able to combine my passions for food production and nutrition by helping patients navigate the often overwhelming world of food choices that they encounter on a daily basis. My 20 years of research and teaching experience, combined with my experience conducting clinical and counseling work, have honed my ability to translate complex scientific findings into easily understandable, actionable steps for patients.

In addition to thoroughly enjoying my work with patients and constantly learning about the newest research in nutrition and health, I love being outdoors, reading, dancing, and spending time with my family and friends.

Approach

"We are constantly hearing about the latest superfood and fad diet. But what is the evidence supporting these claims? As part of my practice I share our best current understanding of the impact of diet and other lifestyle behaviors on long term health. I have compiled this information over the years by thoroughly reviewing the scientific literature. My collaborative work with clients allows them to find their own individual path to better health through lifestyle modifications and habit building."
