Background

As a dietitian, my mission is to help clients find freedom from food and rediscover the joy in everyday life, without guilt, shame, or restriction. I take a deeply individualized, compassionate, and culturally informed approach that goes far beyond meal plans and macros. My work is rooted in the principles of Health at Every Size (HAES®), and I’m passionate about debunking diet culture myths and misinformation that keep people stuck in cycles of fear and confusion around food.

I hold a BFA in Dance from New World School of the Arts and a Master of Science in Dietetics and Nutrition from Florida International University. My background in the arts and sciences allows me to blend evidence-based nutrition with lived experience and creativity. I danced professionally in New York City, and I’ve experienced firsthand how the dance world can distort self-worth and body image. That lived experience fuels my empathy and insight, especially when working with individuals recovering from disordered eating or navigating body image challenges in performance-driven environments.

My ideal client is someone who’s ready to challenge what they’ve been taught about nutrition and body image, someone open to relearning, unlearning, and embracing the idea that all foods can fit in a balanced, nourishing life. Together, we explore not just what you eat, but why, diving into your relationship with food, your body, and the lifestyle factors that shape your well-being. Through education, curated readings, and reflective activities, I guide clients toward a more empowered, intuitive connection with food and self.

In addition to my work with disordered eating and intuitive eating, I also support clients with sports nutrition goals. Whether you're an athlete, dancer, or fitness enthusiast, I help you fuel your body in a way that enhances performance, supports recovery, and honors your relationship with food. My approach to sports nutrition is rooted in flexibility and sustainability, not rigid rules or restriction. I work with clients to understand their unique energy needs, training demands, and personal goals, while also addressing the mental and emotional aspects of fueling an active lifestyle.

I also bring the richness of my heritage into my practice. As the son of Nicaraguan-born parents, I believe that culture and enjoyment should be celebrated in nutrition, not erased. Food is more than fuel; it’s tradition, connection, and pleasure. I help clients honor their cultural roots while building sustainable habits that support their health.

As an LGBTQ+ friendly provider, I’m committed to creating a safe, affirming space for all identities. I love working with members of the LGBTQ+ community to help heal relationships with food and body, especially in the face of societal pressures and marginalization.

Outside of my work, I’m a joyful mix of movement and play. I love Olympic lifting classes, cozy weekends playing video games, hiking scenic trails, and trying new bakeries with my partner. These hobbies keep me grounded and remind me that health is about more than what’s on your plate. It’s about how you live, connect, and find joy.

Whether you're feeling overwhelmed by conflicting nutrition advice, tired of the diet rollercoaster, or simply ready to feel at peace with food, I’m here to walk alongside you. Let’s rewrite the narrative together, one rooted in trust, joy, and liberation.
