Kelsey Reif, RD

Hi! My name is Kelsey and I’ve been a Registered Dietitian since 2014, licensed in the state of Illinois. I’ve always had an interest in food, which started in childhood. I was a very picky eater (sorry mom and dad!), and decided early on that I would be a vegetarian. As I’ve gotten older, I have expanded my food palate, but I’ve always stuck with the morals of eating foods that help me feel good and I believe that is a guiding principle of overall health. Many diseases can be prevented or managed simply by making healthy and appropriate food choices, but it can be really difficult to navigate alone, and many health professionals are not experts in nutrition. That’s where the Registered Dietitian comes in! Throughout my career I have worked in many different healthcare settings. As a hospital food service manager I learned the ins and outs of an industrial kitchen, and how to make hospital food fun and exciting! I also worked as an inpatient clinical dietitian at a large teaching hospital, where I worked in a few different specialties including cardiovascular, diabetes, neurology and critical care. I also worked in our outpatient ALS clinic which really taught me compassion for those struggling with an incurable and debilitating disease. I currently work in a dialysis clinic, providing nutrition counseling and education for those with end stage renal disease.
