Diagnosis and Treatment Plan

P/t spoke of being more mindful of when she was hungry and how hungry she was. She tried to pay attention to and notice hunger cues. She also tried to notice the faint cues of when hunger is coming on so she doesn't get to the point of 'hangry'.

She did pay attention to her hunger when eating a cheeseburger, fries and drink. Ended up only eating about half of her meal and stopped. She admitted to feeling 'embarrassingly proud' of not eating 'all of that bad food'. Mentioned that when she gets too full she ends of feeling guilty. Right now, eating is mostly about 'scratching an itch' so her stomach will stop growling.

She did say that right now she is excited about chocolate milkshakes.

Eating right now is almost a rebelling act against diet culture. She did mention how when she put an end to forbidding pop-tarts, she would eat them every day. This lasted for about 2 years. Now, she feels neutral about pop-tarts. This is where we want to be with food for her.

Goals for this week:

  1. She's been given a positive body image handout with phrases to speak over herself when guilt and other negative emotions come up with eating and her body image.
  2. Drink a milkshake undistracted and pay attention to how she feels.
