Diagnosis and Treatment Plan

Changes / challenges since last visit

Updates since previous session:

Client has a virus. Has trouble breathing on tamiflu. She has been avoiding in-person interactions until she recovers.

Client wrote down things she is proud of herself for. Client to reach out to a doctor to schedule appointment.

Client has been eating with others, pre-making her food, having leftovers to eat -- roasted chickpea with artichoke, salad, vegan chicken. Last week, cookout style vegan cheese burgers, corn on the cob, roasted potatoes, ice-cream sundaes. She finds these strategies very helpful to make intake consistent and doable. Client also eats desserts with friends. She endorses less food judgment and less internal thoughts when she eats desserts with peers. Desserts she has tried are donuts and cinnamon rolls.

Discussed client's body image distress and history. Client finds looking for things she appreciates about herself isn't necessarily body image-related. Client was able to identify action steps she took to engage in self-care that she enjoyed. Client finds that eating what she wants instead of for the calories is also liberating.

Client notes judging others about their appearances as a way to defend her insecurities. Client would like to explore this further with her therapist.

Discussed ways to encourage body image inclusivity. Client wants to put herself in environments that are not judgmental of appearance, such as her pole dancing class, kick ball, and other social activity with others that are also body inclusive.
