Diagnosis and Treatment Plan

Client has been getting over a stomach bug. Client is being seen for pre bariatric surgery nutrition intake. Client attribute stomach bug to drinking from an unfiltered water source.  Client has been doing water, intake and healthy intake, Client stated her energy level has been about the same, Advised trying to eat yogurt and ways to make it palleable, such as incorporating granola or high-quality proteins such as almond. Due to the stomach being upset, sleep has been really hard.  Client also has not been eating well due to having some food in the house not trying to waste. Client was able to do some cardio, but due to a stomach bug, the client was not able to maintain it the last few days.  Client stated she had irregularities with breakfast because the client had no appetite.  Client has no real desired hunger. Client advised client the importance of eating food.  Client stated she is working on getting her taste buds aligned with her foods. Client was advised on transitional foods.  Client was recommended to limit processed foods.  Advised client to limit soda. Client was advised to not consume as many carbohydrate friendly foods. Advised the client that she must adhere to a higher amount of protein as she gets ready for her bariatric surgery. Client has been experimenting with shakes.  Client stated she has to be restrictive with her calories and meal frequency. Client was also advised salmon and turkey as meat options. Clients will be advised to try to eat a calorie restrictive diet.  Client is well motivated and has the right attitude to be a candidate for bariatric surgery.
